This 8x8 LED Matrix kit is powered by MAX7219 and  it only needs 3 data lines and 2 power lines. It is easy to use and has adjustable brightness.  Usually used as electronic display panel. Can be driven in parallel or serial and takes less than 0.1s to light up all 8 rows/columns so a dynamic display can be achieved in either connection.
Kit includes:

- Chipset: MAX7219
- Electrolytic cpaacitor?10uF/25V
